Kohinga Kauheke

Following the release of the Mere Trench, we open the next chapter, Kohinga Kauheke.

The Mere Trench marked the beginning, the first piece in a journey of designs devoted to the legacy of not only Te Rina’s two kuia, Mere Karekare and Mere Mansfield, but also Jeremy’s grandparents. Together, they form the foundation of this collection, a coming together of whakapapa, memory and enduring aroha.

Kohinga Kauheke is a reflection of the deep and unwavering love that grandparents hold for their mokopuna. A love that nurtures, guides and shapes, quietly weaving strength, resilience and identity into the next generation. Each of these tīpuna carried presence within their whānau, their communities and their spaces, leaving behind values that now live on through every piece.

Though each grandparent walked their own path, with their own sense of style, presence and individuality, they were united in the same essence, grace, strength, humility and quiet power.

Each design within Kohinga Kauheke speaks to their stories. Pieces that reflect different expressions of style and legacy, yet remain deeply connected through aroha. Garments created not only to be worn, but to hold meaning, to carry the feeling of being wrapped in love, protected and deeply connected to those who came before.

This is more than a collection.

This is whakapapa, carried forward.
