Toitū Te Reo, the world’s first Māori language festival - a long-held dream of Sir Tīmoti Kāretu and Dr. Jeremy Tātere MacLeod - was launched in Heretaunga (Hastings) in August 2024. The festival provided a platform for thousands of New Zealanders to celebrate what makes us unique in Aotearoa.
